Jim Welch, Wireless Valley's CEO, was the CEO of Metrowerks — he is a very good guy with great vision and I enjoyed working with him and his team while I was at AGEA. Ted Rappaport, the founder of Wireless Valley and its chairman and CTO, is a world leader in RF design and management, holds hundreds of patents and publications on the topic, created the Wireless Networking &
Communications Group at the University of Texas, he has been a great leader & supporter of wireless development here at Austin, is a wonderful speaker, and has brought to market his research as products created by Wireless Valley,
now Motorola. 

Motorola Inc. acquired AWA member Wireless Valley Communications, 
co-founded by Ted Rappaport. Rappaport announced he is taking a leave
of absence from UT during 2006 to work at Wireless Valley, which
becomes the Radio Frequency design and management software team 
within Motorola's government and enterprise mobility solutions division.
