The much anticipated Mobile Operational Management (JSR 232) early draft has been published…
Well, hm, I knew it was going to leverage OSGi, but I was not expecting for it to be 100% OSGi!!! In other words, MOM is OSGi Mobile R4!!! Not sure yet if that is a good or bad thing for mobility and handsets, or if it addresses all the management requirements I was hoping MOM would address, including security items such as managing policies and digital certificates…
So I guess it is time to re-engage OSGi (again)…
I do know it is a big win for IBM, and obviously a big win for The OSGi Alliance, which for years it has been pushing this framework…
The early draft review closes on 6 November 2005.
