Event Overview:

Join us to learn about Internet-based mobile social software and handsets
directly from Helio; pioneer Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) experts
on mobile communities. Also presenting is Telephia with the most recent
industry metrics on MySpace and other mobile communities. The session will
end with Professor Dr. Shakkottai of the University of Texas who will cover
some of his research on social networking. Don't miss this session!

David Howard of Helio (Sponsor)

David Howard is the senior director of platform engineering and is part of
the original Helio founding team. In this role David is responsible for
overseeing the development and operation of Helio's wireless data platforms.
Prior to joining Helio, David was the director of product management
responsible for mobile applications team at EarthLink.

Before EarthLink, David held product management and engineering roles at
multiple internet and mobile startups. David holds a B.S. in computer
science from the University of Texas.

He will cover:

“See how Helio is opening up the mobile internet for what our wireless
devices are best at, communication. We will discuss how Helio is bringing
the internet and community services to our mobile devices and some ideas for
how to make for a more engaging experience unique to mobile.”

David Gill of Telephia

David is a Director at Telephia, the world's largest provider of syndicated
consumer research to the telecom and mobile media markets. In this role,
David is responsible for customer-facing aspects of Telephia's New Media
business, including analysis and delivery of mobile content market data and
competitive insights to clients including Navteq, The Weather Channel,
Motricity and AOL. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from
the University of Texas in Austin.

David will present market data from Telephia's multiple collection
methodologies, including the world's largest mobile data consumption survey,
actual revenue data from Telephia's own panel and metered behavior directly
from devices in the field.

Professor Sanjay Shakkottai, University of Texas

Sanjay Shakkottai received his Ph.D. from the ECE Department at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2002. He is with The
University of Texas at Austin, where he is currently an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received the
NSF CAREER award in 2004. His research interests include wireless and sensor
networks, stochastic processes and queueing theory.

Professor Shakkottai will cover work on Social Networks performed by his
group at the University.
