The next Mobile Monday Austin event is scheduled for next Monday, March 13. It will be a great one – we are having a great set of speakers.

  • David Gill is the Senior Director of Sales for
    M:Metrics, the first audience measurement company focused on the market for wireless content and applications. David holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining M:Metrics, David spent 8 years at Metrowerks in various roles within the wireless, consumer electronics and gaming markets. About M:Metrics – M:Metrics is the mobile industry authority on mobile market measurement, benchmarking the performance of carriers, handset OEMs, platform vendors and content providers, empowering decision makers with highly granular, verifiable measures of mobile subscriber consumption, content availability and pricing, as well as handset capabilities.
  • Andy Mathis, Development Manager,
    Motorola. As a Market Development Manager within Motorola's Mobile Devices business, Andy Mathis is focused on establishing software developer partnerships in support of Motorola's handset portfolio. Andy has over seven years of experience in business development, sales and strategy in the wireless industry. He has established distribution partnerships with a wide range of ISV's and content providers in the entertainment, gaming, business and location based services market segments. Andy holds an MBA from the University of Texas.
  • Per Nilsen is President & CEO of TACPIC. A veteran Ranger and Special Forces officer, founded MenuSoft AB, a software development and consultancy firm, in Sweden in 1990 and guided it through successive mergers to become part of Adera AB. Per left Adera in 2002, three years after its successful IPO, to found TACPIC.
  • Tony Lee, Director of Sales & Marketing,
    NavComp. Mr. Lee left Dell Computer Corporation to join the Manning NavComp team in early 2001 as a systems consultant. He was promoted to Director of Sales & Marketing in Spring 2004. His accelerated rise to this position is evidence of his natural skill in high tech sales and sales management. During his first three years he managed and grew the company's international sales channel from 17 countries to 50 (including every country in Latin America with the exception of Cuba, Guyana, & Suriname), while simultaneously expanding domestic direct sales opportunities. Mr. Lee has also been instrumental in growing cellular carrier relationships on both local and regional levels, in tandem with the
    company's efforts to transition from the early adopter market to a more focused mainstream market. Mr. Lee has an academic background in international business, computer information systems, and Spanish.
  • Jon Werner is Bones in Motion. Founder/CTO, with 20 years experience with software architecture and human factors at IBM followed by CTO and Business Development roles at several startups including TriTeal, Activerse and Netpliance, a consumer Internet products venture.
  • Derrick Oien is a seasoned operations executive with an extensive background in entertainment, media and technology. As co-founder and president of Intercasting Corporation, Derrick oversees the company’s overall strategic direction, managing product development and negotiating strategic partnerships.

    Prior to co-founding Intercasting Corporation in March 2004, Oien was President of Vivendi Universal Net USA, a subsidiary of Vivendi Universal that operated MP3.com, Rollingstone.com, eMusic, and Trusonic from December 2001 until April 2003.

    Oien was COO of MP3.com from January 2001 until the acquisition in August 2001, which resulted in his promotion to President and COO, and in December to head of all of Vivendi’s Internet music properties. Oien worked at MP3.com starting in July 1999, holding a number of positions including strategic account management through January 2000. In January 2000 he became Vice President of Operations until his subsequent promotion to COO in January 2001.

    Previously, he held a variety of positions with companies such as Universal Music Group, Computer Sciences Corporation, BDO Seidman, and Sony Pictures Studios in primarily operations or technology roles.

    Oien graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University Los Angeles with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems.
