  • Description: The number of mobile handsets already exceeds the number of PCs. For thousands of users, their first Internet experience is via their mobile handsets. The mobile browser, which has been playing a very important role in mobile applications, is evolving into a complete runtime in its own right, with support for styles sheets, JavaScript and AJAX, and access to native functionality, allowing for rich and dynamic browser-based applications. Technology leaders from

Speakers

  • Jon S. von Tetzchner, co-founder and CEO, Opera Software.
    Along with colleague Geir Ivarsøy, developed Web browser while working
    for Norwegian Telecom Research (Telenor) in 1994. In 1995 they together founded
    Opera Software and launched their first browser to the public in 1996. Von Tetzchner
    is currently the CEO for Opera Software, and is a knowledgeable speaker on numerous
    topics including Opera as a company, its technology, operations, the marketplace and
    other industry-related subjects.

    Von Tetzchner holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University
    of Oslo. Upon completing his education, he worked as a research scientist for
    Norwegian Telecom Research from 1991 to 1995. Von Tetzchner has received numerous
    honors and awards for his accomplishments through Opera Software. He was recently
    included in the Forum of Young Global Leaders for 2005 and listed as one of
    Business Week's Stars of Europe for 2004.

  • David Gill is the Senior Director of Sales for
    M:Metrics, the
    first audience measurement company focused on the market for wireless
    content and applications. David holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the
    University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining M:Metrics, David spent
    8 years at Metrowerks in various roles within the wireless, consumer
    electronics and gaming markets. About M:Metrics – M:Metrics is the
    mobile industry authority on mobile market measurement, benchmarking
    the performance of carriers, handset OEMs, platform vendors and content
    providers, empowering decision makers with highly granular, verifiable
    measures of mobile subscriber consumption, content availability and

  • Bill Bull is a Senior Designer for Frog Design with over ten years
    experience developing mobile and embedded device user interfaces. He has
    worked on embedded products ranging from mobile DVB/H video players to
    complete cell phone system UIs. Prior to frog design, Bill was the
    principal designer for QNX Software Systems where he oversaw the design
    and development of a variety of reference platforms for consumer
    electronics, automotive, and industrial applications.
