If you haven't yet seen this IMAX movie, Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D, you have to go see it. And if you have children or youngster in your family, take them with you. It is a great movie that brings a lot of emotions, especially to those who believe (and/or have worked) in our space program; it is a movie that educates everyone about our previous moon missions — this movie makes me want to go back to the space program.

And great timing for this movie to come out. As you may know, just 3 days ago (9/19/2005) it was announce the plans for how we (the U.S.) are going back to the moon! And it is very exciting. But it will take to the year ~2018 to make that happen. But what that means is that it is up to today's generation, our generation, to plan (and build the spacecrafts and software for) the return to the moon missions, and for our children, today's 3rd graders and so, like my daughter, to be our future moon walkers — it is so awesome…

I was a kid when humans first went to the moon and I fell in love with the concept of space exploration, and got the chance to work on the Space Shuttle (avionics software), and the Shuttle first missions that put up the initial elements of the space station, and now I hope to get to see us going back to the moon…

Let's keep our kids interested in science and mathematics and engineering… they are our moon and mars and space exploration program's future…
