I made the switch from AT&T to Internet Phone powered by Time Warner cable.

This is why…

There was Cingular, now called AT&T (Wireless). There was AT&T long-distance, who call themselves the old AT&T. There was SBC who call themselves the new AT&T. Yes, when you talk to AT&T folks, they called themselves like that: wireless, old, vs. new. I’m like, wait a minute, isn’t there one AT&T? And their billing is a nightmare. On a number of occasions, I payed my AT&T invoice, just to realize I paid the wrong AT&T.

So I got tired of all that crap. Two weeks ago I was on the phone with the new/old (who cares) AT&T, the new AT&T forwarded me to the old AT&T, I told them how dissatisfied I was, just to be forwarded back the other AT&T, then the person like not hearing me immediately moved forward to offering me packages like DSL and what not, I said, no, you don’t understand, I asked a couple of questions about number portability, then I paid my invoice over the phone, and immediately called Time Warner.

Since I already had my cable + Internet service with Time Warner, their Internet phone service + long distance and other goodies, including DVR (which I’ve been wanting for a while) and the Showtime channel, are all together cheaper than just the AT&T home phone + long distance.

It was a no brainer decision. Hey, and no more billing headaches! Sweet! See ya AT&T…
