Google Pack — a collection of tools I already have (for the most part). The pack consist of software from Google and 3rd parties… From Google: Google Desktop, Google Earth, Picasa, the Google Toolbar(s), and others such as Google Screensaver application. 3rd party tools include Norton Antivirus, Ad-Aware (which is neat), and Acrobat 7.

OK, but I already have Google Earth, Adobe 7, Google Talk, and the Google toolbars. The 3rd party tools such as Norton Antivirus, and the Gallery Player are time limited versions… I should have read the description first, as I hate installing time limited versions, as in a couple of months pop-ups will start bugging me about upgrades, etc. and I will end uninstalling them anyways. And Google Desktop I never liked — I don't like the big fat sidebar that makes the desktop too cluttered, and I don't care about the desktop indexing. Google Desktop should be Widget-based.

I ended up removing most of the pieces, and leaving what I care about — what I already had installed: Google Earth and Talk and Toolbars. Picasa, which I tried for the first time with the pack, I kept, as it is pretty neat.

I guess more new apps. will continue to be added to the pack over time, but if I am afraid a bunch of those will be 2-6 months trials of 3rd party applications… I think the real value of the pack is the Google Updater, that will keep you up-to-date about the latest versions of the Google apps.
