Foursquare and Gowalla’s true competitor

I was with my Finn friends at SXSW when one of the Finns, while looking at his (Android) handset said “Hey there is this event at XYZ happenning now; let’s go there!” To what I said, “Cool, what do you use to know? Foursquare, Gowalla, other app?” His response? “SMS”.

Ha! I thought that was funny, how we have all kind of cool apps/tools with location and whatnot, yet, SMS can still be king.
