For those (business-types) who are dependant on RIM Blackberries, there is a good commentary on News.com by Forrester Research titled RIM on the brink. The commentary covers things such as identify alternative technologies to RIM, and put together a migration plan just in case. They also suggest to investigate Windows Mobile handsets with support for Exchange push email, and (not surprisingly) to stay away from Palm OS since “it was recently sold, and its longevity in the enterprise is limited.”

Other vendors mentioned in the commentary as alternatives to RIM are the typical suspects Smartner/Seven (which recently joined forces), Visto, and the Symbian-based platforms such as Nokia with Intellisync.
