Me being a total air/spacecraft geek (and an ex-Space Shuttle avionics software engineer), it is very cool to see the Austin company called LIFT Aircraft. Founded by Matt Chasen, a well-known Austinite serial entrepreneur, and investor, the company is building a super cool personal transportation aircraft called HEXA which has the potential for revolutionizing personal travel.
The aircraft is totally electric, uses 18 propellors/motors, is ultralight and easy to fly, and is even an amphibious aircraft. See below a video of a test flight by Colin Guinn (Guinn Partners, ex-DJI, ex-3D Robotics). I met Colin, who is an expert on all things drone, a few years ago at SXSW when he was demo’ing DJI. Colin approves HEXA, so it must be awesome. :-)
LIFT Aircraft is a company to watch. Congrats to the LIFT team on the accomplishments so far (not an easy thing to accomplish).
