Wow, Yahoo! and Google are launching new smart clients and wireless services. I believe this annoucement to be huge… Google and Yahoo! providing their own Java ME smart clients that leverage their own back-end services directly, and/or offering MVNO-like services – wow. Talk about competition now, and trying to beat that!
And what is the meaning of all this? Well, it is actually “simple” — now more than ever, if you want to succeed in this new landscape of smart clients + Web 2.0, you must bring meaning to your customers. That's it… your company better create/bring meaning and value, or it will die! Oh, and don't forget to protect your IP! But don't worry, there are still opportunities — the market is still young, and a lot of innovation is yet to be invented…
