I use MS IE for only one purpose.
To download a flash video to hard disc you need IDM and MS IE.
I think it is very difficult or not possible to download a flash video being played in any browser except MS IE.
So for only that purpose I use MS IE.
For browsing or direct downloads, I use another browser because I agree MS IE is the worst browser I have ever seen.
If you think it is not a worst browser, then you have to first improve your knowledge on browsers.

I used to use IE a couple years ago. I’ve been using Firefox and love it with a passion!!! Internet Explorer is a poor design of a web browser and a lot of it is stolen ideas from other browser (mostly Mozilla Firefox).

IE7: Tabbed Browsing; Firefox had this since the first version came out.

IE8: Addons; Firefox also had this from the first version.

Even the latest version of IE is out of date.

Whats worse? Microsoft spends millions of dolars to update there browser (Yes, that’s right). Mozilla Firefox is completely free to update and they constantly check/fix for bugs. Microsoft only does this every so often.

I was been using ie utill I moved out to go to colledge and it sucks! My dad would never let us get anything else he had to have ie and I hated that. But now I have firefox and once I started using that on my computer I felt a relief and I am so happy I switched!!! If you haven’t made the change and you are looking at this page on ie I suggest you switch now to either firefox or Safari both are really good also you can try google chrome and opera these are also very reliable.

I completely agree. Microsoft is the most “shit-licking” company and its products are just as bad. The IE is meant for people who do not know anything except facebook and some other “jigly-wigly” stuffs.

gotta agree with IE being crap. i coded a page using CSS-P, following the recommendations of W3C to the letter. in FF3.5, Safari, Opera, Google Chrome, Netscape, and Konqueror it looked exactly as it should. in IE8 (all modes), it looked like someone had thrown up their lunch on the screen… nuff said!

…and I am not familiar with Safari 3 being a bad browser. I never have a moments trouble with it. It understands CSS beautifully But i am on a Mac. Maybe that has something to do with it. I wouldn’t use it if I had a windows machine. Firefox is my choice no matter what platform. Safari is never an issue. I always test in it just because I have it installed and there are more and more people buying Macs these days. Best Buy carries them now in certain areas….wild.

I just make everyone with Internet Explorer 7 or less upgrade to IE 8. Yeah it is a beta, but damn. As long as there is an IE brand on the browser, people dont mind updating. Firefox and Safari constantly release updates, therefore it is current with the standards of the W3C for the most part. I think Opera is the only one who scores perfect on the acid 3 test and I believe that it is a beta too. Bottom line is that if we as developers dont absolutely force people to upgrade or change to Firefox or Safari then we will never get rid of the IE problems we all face with every site we build. I am at the point that I refuse to hack my code to death to get it to work in IE7 and god forbid IE6. IE 8 is here, for the most part. Make them use it. It is 2009…good enough isnt good enough.
